Sophia Haywood, Director of Advocacy and Communications Elected as Chair of the European Advanced Biofuels Coalition

Sophia Haywood, Director of Advocacy and Communications at Dimeta, has been elected as the new Chair of the European Advanced Biofuels Coalition.

The Advanced Biofuels Coalition is committed to progressing the expansion of advanced biofuel production and uptake across hard-to-abate sectors in Europe. The coalition represents organisations across the whole advanced biofuels value chain, from companies carrying out commercial production today to the enabling supply chain and those investing in the future production pipeline.
The Advanced Biofuels Coalition operates with a single voice, taking a leading position in the field with expertise spanning decades. It actively engages with EU institutions in the policy-making process.
Haywood is the Director of Advocacy & Communications for Dimeta, a company dedicated to advancing the production and use of renewable and recycled carbon DME, a sustainable liquid gas that can de-fossilize the liquid petroleum gas (LPG) Industry. The company has a pipeline of projects in the UK, Europe, and the United States.

“I am honoured to take on this role at a critical time for the advanced biofuels sector. Now, more than ever, we need to accelerate the ambition to scale advanced biofuel production, drive investor confidence and reduce emissions in hard-to-abate sectors. There is a huge amount of potential with advanced biofuels that can be unlocked by the EU, especially in reaching the 2040 targets, and I look forward to working alongside the coalition members in getting the necessary and fair support for our sector in place.”
